Day trip to Arusha National Park

DAY 1 - Arusha National Park - A rewarding hiking destination.

Pick up at Arusha and drive to Arusha National Park.

A green jewel and home to the fourth highest mountain in Africa – Mount Meru (4,566 m). Anyone visiting this park will be thrilled by the breathtaking landscapes ranging from the Meru Crater in the west, the Ngurdoto Crater in the south-east to the grasslands, and of course the alkaline Momella Lakes in the north-east. The park is famous for its very many varieties of trees, as well as for the no less numerous species of birds that inhabit it: pink flamingos, pelicans, ibis, touracos, crowned eagles, fish eagles, Verreaux's eagles, not to mention a multitude of small birds that are unknown to the general public. It is also home to giraffes, zebras, cobes, warthogs, buffaloes, elephants, colobus monkeys, hippos, leopards... Divided into three zones, the park includes, to the south-east, the Ngurdoto Crater region, about 3 km in diameter, which can only be seen from above and resembles a miniature Ngorongoro, except that rhinos have been completely exterminated from the area by hunting and then poaching.

Picnic lunch will be served in one of the sites in the park. Later in the afternoon, drive back to Arusha city and n to your hotel.
